Concert 7: “The Magic of Folk Song”
Corvus Consort takes to the stage alongside WAF’s other resident performances to conclude the festival in an enchanting celebration of Folk Song.
Featuring music originating all over the British Isles and beyond, Corvus will perform choral folksong arrangements by Benjamin Britten, Simon Carrington, Harry Baker and Nathan James Dearden, as well as Gustav Holst’s lovely Six Choral Folksongs, Op. 36, in celebration of Holst’s 150th year in 2024. The programme will also feature another world premiere from WAF’s 2024 Composer-in-Residence Sun Keting, written specially for this concert.
