Heard: a new audio-drama

—   C O N C E R T S   —

Sunday 4th July 2021, 8:00 pm

Heath Street Baptist Church

in collaboration with composer Anna Semple

‘Heard’ is a new audio-drama by Anna Semple and Gareth Mattey, sung by the Corvus Consort. Somewhere between an opera and a radio-play, ‘Heard’ explores the meaning of community and the insidiousness that festers therein.

all singers are people in the community at any and every time
they are a collective, they are a society, they are a community
but individual voices and people can still be heard among them
they might include:
– the gossips
– the refugee
– the mayor
– the neighbour
– the migrant
– the councillor
– the prick
– the familiar
– the lumberer
– the one who needs help
– the dog
it is up to you to decide who is who, and whether you want to or not
but above all, each and every one of them is a member of the community
whether they like it or not
they’re stuck with each other

Entry is free, with refreshments included after the performance.

We will be accepting donations both at the event, and online via the project crowdfunder at the link below…
Half of the money raised will go to Refuge UK to help those affected by domestic violence, and half will go towards covering costs of the event. Any surplus will go to Refuge UK.
